Why not go out on a limb? That’s where the fruit is.
-Mark Twain

We all have a dream of what we want our life to look like. We have that forlorn thought of “If only I could do -blank- then I’d be happy.” Maybe it’s a job or a hobby you wish could be your job. Maybe it’s somewhere you want to travel or experience but it looks absolutely impossible. Maybe you don’t even seriously consider it. I mean sure, maybe you thought about it but quickly wrote it off because there’s no way you could make a living doing that or you’d have to quit your boring day job you went to college for and what would your parents think?! Or maybe you just don’t think you have the capability or what it takes to make what you want happen.

Today I’ll ask you to drop every single reason that’s outside of yourself for a moment and reconsider.

Take yourself back to being a kid. The first time riding a bike. Jumping off a diving board into the deep end of the pool without your floaty. Your first kiss. Scary, right? But you wanted it so you took a leap of faith and you survived. Can you imagine if you hadn’t? There are many things our hearts desire that our minds talk us out of: You’re not good enough. Not worthy. Not successful enough. Not educated enough. No experience. Not financially equipped. My friends and family won’t support this. Or the big one..

I’LL FAIL.

Sound familiar? Now one more time take yourself back to the first time on the diving board. The heart wants to jump but fear creeps in.. and just like ripping off a band-aid you have to put yourself in a state of “do first, think later.” The scariest part is RIGHT before the jump but once you’ve done it, it’s a blast and you go back for more over and over again.

Every single meaningful, amazing thing you will ever want in this life is on the other side of fear..
& fear is something you choose to let control your life.

You can choose to settle. Or you can choose to take a risk and maybe.. Just maybe..

You fly.

Can you let go of the “what ifs”?
Can you let go of the possibility of being judged?
So what if you fail? Try again.
I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again: You are worthy of the life you desire.
It’s never too late.
The edge is always waiting.

& If you don’t wanna listen to me.. Maybe Will Smith will convince you 😛
