Val-Rae Christensen

Yoga found me in 2016. After my divorce I suffered from depression and anxiety. I didn’t know what to do. A friend gave me a book that encouraged me to consider meditation, and subsequently yoga, as a means of coping. My first yoga experiences were so transformative that I decided I needed to help others discover the peace that comes with regular yoga and meditation practice, and so I signed up for teacher training in 2018. As a teacher, it’s my job to create space for peace and healing, and to guide my students responsibly and therapeutically through their practice. My classes are warm and inviting, and, by teaching from the heart and from the core I hope to show that yoga is accessible to everyone. Through the path of yoga, not only can we ignite our inner flame, but keep it shining bright. That’s the beauty of yoga within a community. The space it creates for personal growth and understanding of self and others is contagious. The more light, the better we all see!
