My first experience with yoga was in 2017. A friend of mine was completing yoga teacher training and wanted to practice teaching. I gladly volunteered as one of her guinea pigs. Honestly, I had always wanted to try yoga but thought my body was incapable because I was a curvier woman. Seriously, a real-life thought. If only I knew then what I know now! I soon began to practice at my local Danville studio regularly and continued that practice at Tribe Yoga when I moved to Edinburgh, Scotland. Yoga made me feel at home wherever I was!

Along with the physical practice, I believe this sense of being at home largely had to do with the community of yogis I found wherever I went. After some serious convincing by Sarah Neighbors, I decided I would complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training. I had no idea this decision would impact my entire life. I grew in self-knowledge, self-awareness, and self-love. I teach because I wholeheartedly believe we each deserve to love and care about ourselves a little bit more regardless of our shape, size, or color. Invest in yourself, it’s the one thing you’ll never regret! I’d love to practice with you! I’ll see you on the mat soon!
