What is the best class for beginners?
All of our weekly yoga classes are “all levels” meaning the teacher will offer variations and modifications for beginners and advanced options for experienced yogis. We also offer a dedicated Beginners Yoga class each Sunday at 4:30 pm.
Do you offer prenatal yoga?
Yes! We offer a monthly Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Class on the third Sunday of each month at 6 pm. Join Lauren Mathena, certified prenatal/postnatal yoga teacher for a class that teaches you ways to modify the yoga practice during or after pregnancy. This class is great on its own and also teaches women ways to adapt their yoga practice during any of our other unheated yoga classes. You can also schedule a one on one or small group prenatal/postnatal yoga class by emailing email@example.com.
Do you offer classes for people who aren’t very physically active?
Yes! Many of our classes are suitable for people who are recovering from injury or who are not accustomed to regular exercise. We offer a variety of slow-paced classes including Yin Yoga, Gentle Yoga, and Restorative Yoga. Props are used to make longer held postures comfortable for each student. The Beginners Yoga and Level 1-2 Yoga classes are also accessible to people of all abilities.
Will I look dumb in yoga class?
No one is looking at you. Also, we don’t have mirrors. 😉
How much does it cost?
At regular pricing, a single class is $12 for adults, or $10 for students or active military. We also offer a variety of class packages and monthly memberships which allow you access lower per-class pricing.
I’m not flexible. Which yoga class is for me?
All of them. We aim to make classes as welcoming as possible offering the choice to use props such as blocks and straps to accommodate any level of flexibility.
Are your classes heated?
No, our classes are not heated like “hot yoga.” We maintain the studio at a normal room temperature (68-71 degrees). Yoga is a form of exercise, and you may still break a sweat during class.
Do you offer meditation classes?
Yes, we offer a free 30-minute guided meditation each Wednesday at 7:30 pm. We also offer Yin & Zen class on the first and third Sunday of each month at 6 pm; this class includes a Yin Yoga practice combined with a period of guided meditation.
What is Vinyasa Flow Yoga?
Our primary style of classes is dynamic vinyasa flow, where the postures are linked together with movement and breath. All classes are multi-level with options for modifications.
What is Buti Yoga?
Buti Yoga is a fusion of vinyasa flow yoga, primal movement, and intense cardio sprints. Our classes use music to guide the movement of the body.
What is Level 1-2 Yoga?
Level 1-2 Yoga offers a series of Hatha Yoga postures that are not interconnected as with Vinyasa Flow Yoga. This class builds strength, balance, and flexibility. This class is ideal for beginning students and is also rewarding for advanced yogis.
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga uses a series of long-held poses to improve joint mobility. We utilize yoga props such as bolsters, zafus, blocks, and blankets to support the body in each pose. The goal is to relax the muscles and the mind in order to reduce tension and improve flexibility.
